Elie Weinberger, son of Teddy Weinberger who has been writing for our Jewish Leader for at least 20 years, is coming to our community to speak at Temple Emanu-El this Thursday, April 4 at 5pm.
Elie Weinberger was born in the US, and moved to Israel with his parents and 4 siblings when he was 2 1/2. He attended religious schools in Israel, then yeshiva before joining the army, where he was recognized as the outstanding officer in national officer training school. He is a high school teacher at a religious boys' high school and he commands about 100 fighters in the reserves. He was promoted from Captain to Major during the war with Hamas. He is married and the father of 3 small children.
Elie will be speaking about commanding a diverse unit of 100 reserve soldiers and sharing stories and reflections from the past five months of war. There is no charge for this event.
