Jewish Film Festival
April 6-25, 2013
The 19th Annual International Jewish FILM FESTIVAL of Eastern ConnecticutProduced in association with The Garde Arts Center, Connecticut College Hillel, New London; and the Capitol Theater, Willimantic
Schedule (pdf)
On Tuesday evening, April 9, at 7:30 p.m., the second film in the festival, Nicky’s
Family, will be screened at The Garde. This is a documentary about Nicholas
Winton, an Englishman who organized the rescue of 669 Czech and Slovak children just
before the outbreak of World War II. Winton, now 102 years old, did not speak about
these events with anyone for more than half a century. Winton is an immensely
compelling symbol of how the caring of one man can truly make a difference.
Nicky’s Family will also be screened at The Capitol Theater in Willimantic on Wed., April 10 at 7:00 p.m. Finally it will be screened on Sunday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Congregation Share Zedek in Westerly, RI.
